Google Sheets

  • Cloud Spreadsheets

Integrate Yurbi with Google Sheets to automatically fetch the latest data on a scheduled basis, updating your local database tables for up-to-date reporting and dashboard creation.

About

Google Sheets is a cloud-based spreadsheet application that allows users to create, edit, and collaborate on spreadsheets online. When integrated with Yurbi, users can connect to their Google Sheets via the API to access real-time data for reporting and dashboard creation. To establish this connection, customers must set up API access through the Google Developer Console. For public sheets, users can connect using an API key; for private sheets, OAuth2 authentication is required, which involves gathering the necessary API connection details.

It is essential that the Google Sheets contain only raw data, with no blank columns or rows, and that spreadsheet names and column headers are properly labeled. During integration, Yurbi fetches all contents of the spreadsheet and creates a corresponding database table for each sheet. Users can set up a schedule to automatically fetch and reload data at regular intervals, ensuring that the latest contents of the Google Sheet are always reflected in Yurbi.

Supported Versions

Google Sheets does not have traditional versioning, as it is a continuously updated service provided by Google.

Integration FAQs

  • How do I get started with this integration?

If you have admin privileges, navigate to Settings > Integration and select Create a New App for the data source you want to use.

  • What types of data can I access through this integration?

Yurbi generates SQL queries dynamically using the official database driver, ODBC driver, or API endpoint. Through this integration, you can access a variety of structured data from your data source, such as tables, views, and results from stored procedures in MSSQL and MySQL.

  • How do I refresh the data in Yurbi after making changes in my database?

Yurbi performs live queries against your data source, ensuring that every time a report or dashboard is executed, it retrieves the most up-to-date data available. This means you always have access to the latest information without needing to manually refresh anything.

  • Can Yurbi cause any damage or harm to my data source?

Yurbi performs read-only queries against the connected data source, meaning it cannot write or modify any data. However, if queries are designed to pull excessive amounts of data, they can consume significant resources, potentially leading to timeouts or increased load that may affect overall performance.
